Fantastic radio adaptation of the classic book, starring Vincent Price and Donna Reed. This series always provided quality work and this episode is no exception. Enjoy.

This incredible piece of audio history is from 1939. We have dvided it into 19 parts. Throughout the coming weeks we'll be sharing each part until the series is completed. Most of you have probably already heard these segments, but for those of you who haven't, it is certainly a chance to revisit radio in an unique way. This is the real thing as it was when it was happening...a full broadcast day.

Hilarious antics ensue as Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis welcome their guest, actress Mona Freeman. I never get tired of them and as I said previously, the world had two great comedy teams go head to head with great material. The only difference I feel, is that Martin & Lewis were at the forefront of modern day comedy. (watch Jim Carrey or Robin Williams and others to see the comparisons.) Jerry Lewis was ahead of his time and Dean was on the verge of his sophisticated-romantic persona. Anyways they were lots of fun and it still stands up today.

This sunday night staple of OTR is a fine example of fun entertainment. Bergen & McCarthy brought an unique talent to people at home. With great guest stars and very funny skits and situations, this program continues to entertain us including right here at our Playhouse. So sit back and relax and enjoy some fun from the past.

The detective story in which all other detective stories are judged by. Bogart is Sam Spade and he's a man who's self made and will do anything to keep a gig. The film was John Huston's first directing job and it began what would become as legendary a career as Bogie's. In their first collaboration, it's a humdinger and The Academy Award Theater does it a great honor in bringing the stars to the mic to re-enact their roles that made them stars. This one's a keeper.

With Dean's anniversary of his death approaching on christmas day, this is my tribute to him, with guest star Debbie Reynolds. It will be 11 years since he passed away. But the guy is hotter than ever. You have to enjoy the talent.

An exciting story of Dorothy Gale and her adventures in a place that wasn't Kanas anymore. Great show and a great Judy Garland. It's the stuff that dreams are made of.
